Nigerian Afro-fusion artist Hvntar returns with a vibrant new single titled “Dance”, a soulful, upbeat offering that invites listeners to reconnect with joy, movement, and thesimple freedom of being present. In a world weighed down by pressure and performance, Dance is a reminder to exhale, to feel, and to celebrate life no matterwhat it looks like.

Signed to Oakland Records, a newly launched Afrobeats label focused on refining and elevating African music for global audiences, Hvntar continues to make bold strides in shaping the future of Afro-fusion. With Dance, he blends the emotional storytelling he’s known for with rhythmic, feel-good production that reflects both his roots and his evolution as an artist.
Born Peter Oche in Lagos and raised in Benue State, Hvntar’s sound blends Afrobeat, soul, and alternative influences with deeply personal storytelling. His music explores themes of love, growth, and healing, shaped by his early days leading a children’s choir in the army barracks he grew up in and a lifelong connection to melody and introspection.
With Dance, Hvntar steps into a lighter, liberating space without losing his signature depth. The track pulses with rhythmic energy, anchored in Afro-fusion beats and rich vocal layers; a soundscape that urges listeners to release their worries and move.
“Dance is for everyone carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders,” says Hvntar. “It’s a reminder to let joy back in, to move, to breathe, and to live without apology.”

A former backup vocalist for Afrobeats legend 2Baba and the voice behind 2021’sviral hit FDS and the 2024 EP Cazador, Hvntar is known for creating music that connects deeply. Dance continues this tradition, offering both a sonic escape and a meaningful message.
With this new release, Hvntar reaffirms his place as a rising voice in Nigeria’s Afro-fusion scene; one who blends spirit and sound to create music that moves both body and soul.
Dance is available now on all streaming platforms.
