The Nigerian singer-songwriter delivers a blend of romance and stardom in his latest double single release.
Nigerian Singer-songwriter, Lojay has unveiled his first solo offering of 2024, a two-pack single featuring tracks, ‘Unleash’ & ‘Falling’. This release comes as a much-anticipated moment for fans eager for new Lojay music and serves to build excitement ahead of his long-awaited debut album.
Lojay’s last official release was the single, ‘Arizona’ released in November 2023, and featured veteran Nigerian rapper, Olamide. Since then, the rising star has been busy with notable collaborations, featuring on tracks with Tyler ICU & Tumelo.za (“Mnike Remix”), Sarz (“Billions”), Simi (“Miracle Worker”), and Fireboy DML (“Letting Go”). He also released a collaborative project titled, Loveless – EP with ace producer, Jae 5 in March 2024. Lojay also celebrated his first entry into the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year when ‘Sensational’ debuted on the charts, peaking at No. 71 and spending eight weeks on the charts. The track also earned him two NAACP Image Awards and nominations at the BET Awards and MTV VMAs.
Building on this momentum, Lojay’s new release is an introduction into a new era for the artist while maintaining the unique approach to lyricism and melodies that have captivated listeners. On ‘Falling’, he takes on his romantic gangster persona. It is a romantic ode to desire and adventure, as Lojay sings of his intentions to whisk his love interest to exotic locations from Lokoja to Casablanca to enjoying summers in France. He sings this over a bouncy production, courtesy of P.Priime (Wizkid, Olamide, Asake), Louddaaa (Ayra Starr, Crayon, Magixx), godOmarr (Fireboy DML, YKB, Reekado Banks), & Dayo Grey (Ayra Starr, Crayon, Simi).
In contrast, “Unleash” offers a glimpse into Lojay’s superstar lifestyle in Lagos, featuring laid-back production from frequent collaborator Sarz and genre-bending producer Moon Willis.
With these new tracks, Lojay ushers fans into a new era in his career as fans eagerly await his debut album.
